Recycling

The Johnson County Sheltered Workshop offers a full service recycling center 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Recycling Information Sheet

Help save the environment and help individuals with developmental disabilities by bringing these items to our recycling center.

Paper Items:

White office paper, newspaper, mixed/colored paper, magazines, books

Tin:

Cat and dog food cans, vegetables cans, juice cans, scrap metal

Cardboard:

Cardboard boxes, cardboard containers, cereal boxes, paper bags

Aluminum:

Soda and beverage cans, aluminum foil, pie pans

Glass:

Food and beverage containers only. No drinking glass, window glass, or picture frame glass. Place in purple Ripple Glass container.

All recyclables must be clean and placed in properly marked receptacle. All cans and containers must be drained and rinsed.

The recycling center is located on the southeast corner of the Johnson County Sheltered Workshop. Our recycling center provides meaningful and dignified employment within a safe environment for individuals with disabilities. Employees come to the recycling center from all over the Johnson County area.
