Residential - Group Homes
The Group Homes are operated by Johnson County Board of Services (JCBS). The JCBS Group Homes provide quality residential care for persons with developmentally disabilities. Our group homes assist and support persons with their daily living skills, activities, and goals so they can be happy, independent, and productive members of the community.
The residents of our group homes come from diverse backgrounds with ages ranging from 18 to 55. Each resident is actively involved in and responsible for taking care of their home. All of the residents are employed at the Johnson County Sheltered Workshop. The residents enjoy activities such as Special Olympics, gardening, fishing, sewing, crafts, exercising, cooking, movies, and sports. They also enjoy outings into the community and surrounding areas such as concerts, theater, dances, amusement parks, and local fairs.
